Perhaps inevitably, mainly about the school proposal - where it stands, the siting and layout, the implications for other land adjacent the site if it is acquired by the Priory Hospital, the implications for traffic and the need to look properly at alternative sites to meet what, over South West Enfield as a whole, the growing demand for primary places.
This letter, from joint GRA Chair Michael Clary, argues that the council's own figures show there is a huge potential unmet need for primary places at the southern edge of South West Enfield and asks why the council appears to be concentrating its efforts further north. The Advertiser has usefully added an explanation of the reference to Ashmole in square brackets, which was not in the version as sent. Both versions are available from the buttons to the left.
Sorry - clip has been taken down!
Not really news, but here is a lovely half hour clip that has been posted on Youtube. The style and commentary are very much of its time but it does give a flavour of what has been lost in terms of green space and buildings. The reference to a fox as a rarity will amuse anyone whose bin bags used to be regularly ripped open! And - who knows? - someone might recognise themselves.

If you are wondering why all the heavy machinery has appeared at the Church Hill end of Grovelands Park, this is because work has started on the "deculverting" of the stream at the Church Hill end of Grovelands Park. A plan of the works is posted on the Church Hill gate. The stream is being allowed to find its own course down to the point where it flows under Church Hill. The Friends of Grovelands Park have been fully consulted on this scheme, which should improve the appearance of that part of the park, as well as alleviating flooding downstream by allowing an area for water to collect when necessary.
The Friends of Grovelands Park are specifically concerned with the park rather than the surrounding area (or even the Grovelands estate as a whole). It holds regular meetings in one of the halls at St. Paul's Church on Church Hill. It is well worth joining. Here is a link to their website.
