QED Bombed
The photo below shows the bomb damaged property on Queen Elizabeth's Drive hit during the Blitz in World War II. Websites like www.bombsight.org (which appears to only intermittently work) shows the bomb at around no. 48-50 Queen Elizabeth's Drive, however it is thought this is a pin dropped based on the centre of the post code area, since on the Royal Mail website this is where they drop a pin when searching for the post code generally. Following conversations with some residents it is thought to be no. 18 on the corner of Raleigh Way.
